American authors. Glendon Fred Swarthout was an English professor at Michigan State University from 1951 to 1959, and on the faculty of Arizona State University from 1959 to 1963. Kathryn Swarthout was an elementary school teacher from 1954 to 1959 and has also been a columnist for Woman's day magazine. They currently reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
